What saith the Scriptures on HospitalityTitus 1v8: But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just holy, temperate. Here Paul is talking primarily about the bishops (or overseers). Paul tells us that they should be given to hospitality, that they should be lovers of it.
Romans 12v13: Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
Paul and Peter both encourage the saints to use hospitality to one another. Not to do it grudging, because they have been told to do it, but to do it out of love. These two verses are not, as the previous two, written to the bishops or overseers of the church but to each member of the church.
Hebrews 13v2: Be not forgetful to entertain strangerS: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Here the writer to the Hebrews, and the Lord both remind us that we should entertain not just the saints but strangers. For we don't know they could be fellow believers, they could be angels as Abraham found out back in Genesis 18v3 and Lot found out in Genesis 19v2. So to conclude, all of us, not just bishops or overseers, are encouraged to use hospitality. Not just to fellow believers but also to strangers.
